    • Successful resolution of barricaded suspect or hostage situations relies on discipline, teamwork, and communication.

    Response and Responsibilities

    • Deputies will refrain from taking action that would endanger hostages or others if possible.
    • Deputies will take action if they reasonably believe it's necessary to protect lives, consistent with the department's response to resistance policy.

    Deputies' Responsibilities

    • Notify communications and supervisor of the incident and circumstances.
    • Control, contain, and isolate the incident scene.
    • Evacuate any innocent citizens who may be caught within the immediate area.

    Sergeants' Responsibilities
