Branding Details on Wheels and Axles
- Wheel Details: Stamped or marked on the outer face of the wheel rim (rough or finished). For LHB coaches, stamping on the outer hub face. Additional markings (S.No. 1-4) on the outer hub fillet.
- Wheel Centre Details: Cold stamped or electrically etched on outer hub face at specific locations.
- Axle Details: Stamped or electrically etched on both ends (5 mm letters for rough/finished axles; 10 mm if forged).
- Assembly Details: Marked on the outer face of the wheel/wheel centre hub (10 mm letters).
- PCD of Stamping: Different wheel types have different PCD (Pitch Circle Diameter) for stamping on rims. Example: WTAC3-0-2-301, T-0-2-622 for coaching wheels have 788mm PCD.
- Additional Marking (X): Required for LHB coach wheels.
- Mandatory Markings: All specified markings on wheels, wheel centers, and axles are mandatory. Locations are indicated.
Outer Ring Marking
- Reconditioning/Remanufacturing: "R" encircled marking must be on the inner diameter of the outer ring (straight portion).
- Caution: Avoid damaging the raceways when marking.
- Marking Method: Suitable scribing tool. Electric etching or steel stamping prohibited.
Marking of Overhauling Particulars on Backing Ring of CTRB
- Location: Stamping on backing ring of CTRB.
- Size: 20 mm letters and numbers.
- Content: Workshop code, month, and year.
- Legibility: Stamping must be legible.
