Airbus CMC system offers up to three different tests: 1. System test - available in all systems. 2. Complementary test. 3. Output test. In Boeing CMC system, two different types of tests are available from the menu: Ground tests are available for all major systems, comparable to the Airbus system, and complementary tests. Confidence tests are available for only a few systems, mainly used for preflight checks and are comparable to the Airbus output tests. All the tests work the same way: 1. Select system you want to test. 2. Select the test by pressing the line select key. 3. Sends test request signal to the system computer. 4. BITE Display shows the message: 'test in progress' while the Bite is controlling the necessary test steps in the system. 5. The test result is sent back to the central maintenance computer system where it appears on the display.
