Bihar SSC Inter Level Examination Overview
The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) conducts the intermediate level examination for students enrolled in various streams including Arts, Science, Commerce, and Vocational courses under its jurisdiction. This examination is popularly known as the Intermediate or Class XII board examinations within Bihar state of India and is administered by the authority responsible for secondary education in the state. It's also referred to as the Previous Year Question Paper, which is a set of question papers released beforehand so that candidates can prepare accordingly. In this article, we will delve into the structure, eligibility criteria, syllabus, and recent updates related to the Bihar SSC Inter Level Examinations.
Eligibility Criteria
To appear for the Bihar SSC Inter Level Examination, students must have completed their Matriculation or High School course from any recognized institution affiliated with the BSEB. There exists certain age criteria as well, where one needs to complete 17 years of age by December 31st of the admission year to enter class XIth at the time of registration process according to the official notification.
Syllabus
The syllabus for each stream, namely Art, Science, Commerce, and Vocational courses, is available on the official website of BSEB. These syllabi prescribe the theoretical subjects that would constitute part of the curriculum during the two-year duration of classes XI & XII. Pattern of Papers
During the academy course, every student has to pass eight principal and four optional subjects pertaining to his/her respective group. Out of these twelve subjects, five shall necessarily be qualified subjects, wherein marks obtained therein are considered for the purpose of awarding the certificate of passing the senior school certificate examination.
In addition to the regular academic studies, students are required to undertake practical training in various fields such as Home Science, Agriculture, Physical Education, Work Experience, etc., depending upon the subject opted by them.
Recent Updates and Changes
Recently, the BSEB had made certain amendments regarding the submission of online applications due to Covid pandemic concerns. Candidates were allowed additional time for submitting online application forms until July 2nd, after which no offline correction facility was offered anymore. Another significant update came when more than 9 lakh students appeared for the compartmental examinations held by the BSEB. With more than half of these appearing through offline modes, it signified a shift towards traditional methods despite digital access being available. Nevertheless, the use of modern technologies like OMR sheets and online evaluation systems helped speed up the result declaration process.
As per another announcement, a new circular was issued by the BSEB, clarifying that the Class X numerals won’t be used for Class 11 admissions in Government schools and colleges starting Academic Session 2021–22. Instead, Class X percentages will be taken into account for Class 11 admits into government institutions.
Lastly, the Supreme Court ordered cancellation of all ongoing physical entrance tests scheduled between June 1 and June 8 across states amid fears over COVID rise. Moreover, inter-state travel restrictions imposed by different governments led many universities to cancel JEE Mains exams or delay them till further notice. Amidst such uncertainties caused by the virus outbreak, students awaited clarity on their future prospects.
