The Mission of the Twelve
- Jesus sent the twelve disciples out two by two to teach and have authority over unclean spirits.
- They were instructed to take nothing except a walking stick.
- They should not wear extra clothing.
- They should stay in a house until leaving and shake the dust off their feet in testimony against places that don't welcome them.
- They preached repentance and healing.
- They drove out demons.
Jesus and John the Baptist
- Herod heard about Jesus's fame and that people thought John the Baptist was raised from the dead.
- It was known John was beheaded by Herod.
- Herod was married to his brother Philip's wife, Herodias.
- John accused Herod of marrying his brother's wife which caused him to be imprisoned in jail.
- When Herodias' daughter danced for Herod, he promised her anything she asked for, and she demanded John the Baptist's head.
- John was beheaded.
- His disciples took his body and buried it.

- The apostles gathered and Jesus told followers to come away and rest.
