Policy (43.01)
- Vehicular pursuits are critical incidents and important for protecting public safety
- The Bexar County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) may restrict or block ingress/egress of vehicles, not including roadblocks
- Pursuits conducted following guidelines for protecting the public
- Violators posing an unpredictable danger to public, deputies, and themselves
- Vehicle pursuits are tense, uncertain, and rapidly evolving. Deputies must assess risk to themselves and the public constantly
Purpose (43.02)
