Bengali Literature

He is known for his collection of poems "Gitanjali." Other notable figures include Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, author of the national anthems of India and Bangladesh; Michael Madhusudan Dutt, who translated Shakespeare into Bengali; and Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen, whose work has been controversial due to her portrayal of religion and sexuality.
