Bachelor of Arts in Social Work (BASW) Courses of Study 2019
- This is a four-year academic program under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Tribhuvan University
- The program aims to produce generalist social workers for Nepal and the world
- The curriculum includes 8 papers, compulsory field work, research, academic writing, and report writing
- The program also includes courses from related disciplines, Nepal Studies and Academic Writing
Objectives
- Impart up-to-date knowledge of social work theories and methods, along with practical skills developed through field work
- Provide general skilled human resources for social work in Nepal
- Cultivate a spirit of human rights and social justice
- Develop professional skills comparable to social workers in other countries
Admission Criteria
- Students with a higher secondary level degree (+2, PCL) in any recognized subject by Tribhuvan University are eligible to apply
- Entrance examination may be required, conducted by the Dean's Office, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
- Admission will be based on merit and enrollment quotas
Course Duration and Examinations
- The program lasts four academic years
- There will be annual final examinations in each year
- Regular attendance is crucial for eligibility in both internal and final examinations
