    AWS Billing

    Understanding AWS Billing

AWS Billing and Cost Management is a suite of features designed to help users manage their AWS billing, retrieve and pay invoices, and analyze, organize, plan, and optimize costs. The service provides a range of features that enable users to manage their AWS billing preferences, view and pay invoices, and analyze their cost usage.

    Accessing the AWS Billing Console

To access the AWS Billing console, users need to sign in to the AWS Management Console and navigate to the AWS Billing and Cost Management console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/billing/.

    Bills Page

The Bills page in the AWS Billing and Cost Management console allows users to view their monthly chargeable costs, along with details of their AWS services and purchases made through AWS Marketplace. Invoices are generated when a monthly billing period closes, or when subscriptions or one-time purchases are made.

    AWS Bill Summary

The AWS bill summary section provides an overview of monthly charges, showing invoice totals for closed billing periods and estimated charges for pending billing periods.

    Payment Information

The Payment information tab on the Bills page provides details about the payment methods and invoices.

    Taxes by Service

The Taxes by service tab shows the pre-tax, tax, and post-tax charges for each service that was charged taxes. Users can sort and filter the data by service name, post-tax charge, pre-tax charge, or tax in USD.

    Tax Invoices and Supplemental Documents

This section lists tax invoices and other supplemental documents for the selected billing period.

    Downloading Invoices

Users can download invoices as PDF documents from the Bills page by selecting a month and choosing the Invoices tab. They can also download tax invoices and supplemental documents from the Tax Invoices and Supplemental Documents section.

Using the AWS Billing and Cost Management API

The AWS Billing and Cost Management API can be used to programmatically access some of the features provided by the service.
