Prehistoric Art in Europe
- Prehistoric Art is art made before the invention of writing.
- This period is also known as the Stone Age.
- Divided into two periods: Paleolithic and Neolithic
- Paleolithic Period: 42,000 BCE - 8,000 BCE
- Paleolithic Period: Focus on Sculpture, with prominent examples being Woman from Willendorf (c. 24,000 BCE), and Venus de Milo (c. 24,000 BCE).
- Paleolithic Period: Focus on Cave Paintings, with prominent examples being Chauvet Cave (c. 32,000 – 30,000 BCE)
