Army Intelligence Organization

• Includes OG2, PA (Combat Units)

ISG (Intelligence and Security Group)

• It is the Primary Operating Arm in Intelligence
• Mission: To conduct specialized intel & counterintelligence operations in support of the PA’s mission

• Includes 24 ISU, 14 ISU, TIS, SMD, and Territorial ISUs

Division Intel Unit Responsibilities

• Headed by AC of S, G2
• Under AC of S, G2 is the Deputy
• Orchestrates intelligence and counterintelligence activities of combat, combat support, and service support units
• Includes ADMIN, PROD, OPNS, CI and SIGINT

Military Intelligence Battalion (MI BN) Structure

• Includes HQS & HSVC, SM, TIC, CI, and MICO
• MI BN has 307 members

BDE S2 Functions

• Includes INTEL/OPNS, CI, SIGINT
• Orchestrates combat intelligence and counter-intelligence activities of its OPCON Infantry Battalions

BN S2 Functions

• Includes OPNS/PROD, CI, SIGINT
• Controls and supervises intelligence and counterintelligence activities of the Battalion Intelligence Platoon
• Orchestrates intelligence collection of the Battalion

BN Intel Platoon

• Includes HUMINT TEAM and SIGINT TEAM
• Capabilities: Ground Reconnaissance Patrol, Radio Monitoring Operations, Establishment of Area Informant Nets, Recruitment of Action Agents

Role of AC of S, G2

• Orchestrates intelligence and counterintelligence activities of Army units in support to the execution of the Command’s mission and functions

Functions of G2, PA

• Prepares and supervises the implementation of intel, CI and security plans and programs of PA
• Formulates, reviews, and supervises the enforcement of intel, CI and security policies, directives, SOPs, procedures and regulations of PA
• Prepares and supervises the execution of the intelligence budget of PA
• Prepares intel products for use of CG, PA; HPA staffs; PA units; GHQ and other authorized entities
• Plans and supervises the coverage on the intelligence task allocation of PA
• Represents PA in domestic and international intelligence forum
• Evaluates and develops the capabilities of Army intelligence units
• Develops and reviews intel doctrines of PA
• Plans and supervises the intel training and education activities of PA
• Acts as liaison of PA to foreign government entities

• Also consists of AB, PBB, PB, OB, CIB, TIB, and FLB

Goals and Thrusts of Army Intelligence

• Goal: To provide timely, accurate, and relevant intelligence through a secured system
• Thrusts:
  • Enhance the knowledge & skills of the intelligence personnel
  • Pursue activities that could provide real time intelligence
  • Improve the equipage of the intelligence components
  • Reorganize/restructure army intelligence to become more effective and responsive

Army Intel Net Components

• It is divided into EIN and IIN
• EIN: CEN (Base Area, Guerrilla Zone, Expansion Area, Unaffected Area), UEN (Schools, Bus Establishments, Govt Offices, Urban Brgys)
• IIN: CIN (REG’L COMM, PROV’L COMM, FRONT COMM, SECOM, SYP), UIN (FRONT ORGN)

Intelligence Task Allocation (CTM)

• Consists of Peasantry, Indigenous People, Transport, Professionals, Govt Workers, Women, Religious, Urban Poor, Labor, Student/Youth, Factories, Govt Offices, Bus Firm, Affected Urban Brgys, Affected Schools, National Organ, RPC, PC/MRGU, Guerrilla Fronts, Main Force/Plager, SecCom, SYP, Base Area, Guerrilla Zone, Expansion Area, & Unaffected Barangays

Intelligence Task Allocation (SPSG)

• Consists of Islamic Centers, Ulama Council, Tabligh, Muslim Cause Organization, Urban Mosques, Madaris, Urban Muslim Communities, Islamic Schools, Command & Control, Area Forces, Major Operating Units, Sub-Operating Units, SPSG Supportive Area, SPSG Sympathetic Area, & SPSG Threatened Area

Intel Production and Exploitation Cycle

• Inputs consist of DIB/SITREP, SPL Reports, DOCEX and TIR
• Outputs consist of WIAR (Weekly), INTSUM (Monthly), OB (Quarterly), INTEL EST (Semi-Annual), SPL ASSMT and RPT (As necessary)
