- Manufacturers, designers, importers, and suppliers of articles for use in factories are responsible for ensuring that the article is safe and without risks to the health of workers when properly used.
- Manufacturers must carry out necessary tests and examinations and provide adequate information about the use and conditions necessary for safe use of the article.
- Importers of articles manufactured outside India must ensure that the article conforms to the same standards as those manufactured in India or higher standards if adopted in the country of manufacture.
