    Study Notes

    APU Fire Test/APU Start

    • Applicable to: ALL
    • Ident.: PRO-NOR-SOP-04-C-00010902.0001001/23 NOV 21
    • APU Fire Test: APU FIRE pb-sw, APU AGENT light, APU FIRE TEST pb
    • Test Result: Verify APU fire detection and extinguishing system is operational; APU FIRE warning should appear if AC power is available; ECAM, CRC, MASTER WARN light, APU FIRE pb-sw will light red (may be partially lit if AC power isn't available), SQUIB light and DISCH light will be on.

    APU Start

    • APU MASTER SW pb-sw: If batteries are the only power source, APU pb will display on the ECAM control panel.
    • APU START pb-sw: To enhance APU start performance, set APU START pb-sw to ON 3 minutes after flight crew activates APU MASTER SW pb-sw to ON. This ensures proper fuel feed pressurization.
    • Cold Weather Considerations: Below approximately 10°C, a bleed pressure of up to 12 PSI might fluctuate on the APU SD and BLEED SD pages.
    • Additional Information: For more information, see APU Controls and indicators/Overhead panel, LIM-APU APU Start, and LIM-APU APU Start/Shutdown during Refueling/Defueling.
