- The four most important branches of anthropology are:
Linguistic Anthropology
- Focuses on how individuals establish communication between themselves.
- Language gives us a sense of belonging in the world and, specifically, in a community. It therefore also defines part of a person's identity.
Archaeology
- Its main goal is to analyze objects, tools, and buildings that have been built throughout human history.
- It does not just compare one culture to another, but seeks to understand how society has transformed.
- This understanding has enabled progress and improvement.
Social & Cultural Anthropology
- These are two distinct branches that must be studied together.
- Social anthropology focuses on how human beings associate and form groups, while cultural anthropology is concerned with the habits and customs of these groups.
Biological Anthropology
- Analyzes and explains the biological part of people and possible differences between different human groups due to adaptation to different terrestrial environments.
