Animal Farm - Characters and Themes

In "Animal Farm", Mr. Jones represents the human oppressors who exploit the animals. His cruelty and inefficiency lead to the animals' rebellion, and his eventual expulsion symbolizes the overthrow of the old regime.

The protagonist of the story, Boxer is a hardworking horse who embodies the ideals of loyalty and dedication. Despite being unaware of the pigs' manipulative tactics, he tirelessly supports the revolution, demonstrating the resilience and blind faith of the working class.

Based on Russia's communist government after the revolution, this system is characterized by collective ownership of resources and an emphasis on equality among all animals. However, in the novel, the pigs gradually use their intelligence to gain power and exploit the system for their own benefit.

The pigs, being the most intelligent animals, take on the role of the ruling class in the story. Their manipulation and eventual dictatorship reflect the corruption and betrayal that can arise from power struggles within a communist regime.
