Angle Relationships
- Complementary angles are two angles that add up to 90 degrees.
- Supplementary angles are two angles that add up to 180 degrees.
- Triangle angles: The three angles inside a triangle always add up to 180 degrees.
- Quadrilateral angles: The four angles inside a quadrilateral always add up to 360 degrees.
Parallel Lines and Angles
- Alternate angles (Z-pattern): When two parallel lines are crossed by a transversal, the angles opposite each other and in the shape of a Z are equal in measure.
- Corresponding angles (F-pattern): When two parallel lines are crossed by a transversal, the angles in matching positions (i.e.,top left, top right etc) are equal in measure.
- Co-interior angles (C-pattern): When two parallel lines are crossed by a transversal, the angles inside the parallel lines, on the same side of the transversal add up to 180 degrees.
