Testis Structure
- The testis is shaped like an ovoid and is white in color.
- It is surrounded by a tough fibrous capsule called the tunica albuginea.
- The interior of the testis is divided into lobules by a series of fibrous septa that extend from the inner surface of the capsule.
Ejaculatory Duct
- The ejaculatory duct pierces the posterior surface of the prostate and opens into the prostatic part of the urethra.
- Its function is to drain seminal fluid into the prostatic urethra.
- It is located between the neck of the bladder above and the urogenital diaphragm below.
Prostate Glands
- The numerous glands of the prostate are embedded in a mixture of smooth muscle and connective tissue.
- The ducts of these glands open into the prostatic urethra.
