Epithelial tissue is grouped into squamous, cuboidal, columnar, and transitional based on the cell shape covering and lining epithelium. Squamous epithelium is flattened & scale like, found in blood capillary, cuboidal epithelium is cube shaped, found in salivary gland, columnar epithelium is tall & cylindrical, found in villi of the digestive tract, and transitional epithelium is found in the urinary bladder.

Epithelial tissue is grouped into simple epithelium, stratified epithelium, and pseudo-stratified based on the arrangement of layers covering and lining epithelium. Simple epithelium is found in the kidney collecting tube, stratified epithelium is found in the skin, and pseudo-stratified is found in the trachea.

Glandular epithelium's main function is secretion. A gland may consist of one cell or a group of highly specialized epithelial cell. Glands can be classified into exocrine and ______ according to where they release their secretion.
