  • Cephalic: Region of the head, including the frontal, orbital, nasal, oral, and mental regions. Also includes the otic and occipital regions.

  • Cervical: Region of the neck.

  • Thoracic: Region of the chest, encompassing the sternal, axillary, mammary, and thoracic regions.

  • Abdominal: Region of the abdomen, including the umbilical, pelvic, and inguinal (groin) regions.

  • Upper Limb: Includes the acromial (shoulder), brachial (arm), antecubital (front of elbow), olecranal (back of elbow), antebrachial (forearm), and carpal (wrist) regions. Further subdivisions include the manus (hand) with pollex (thumb), metacarpal, palmar, and digital regions.

  • Lower Limb: Includes the coxal (hip), femoral (thigh), patellar (kneecap), popliteal (back of knee), crural (leg), sural (calf), fibular (or peroneal) and pedal (foot) regions. Further subdivisions include tarsal (ankle), calcaneal, metatarsal, and digital (toes). The plantar region is at the bottom of the foot. The hallux is the big toe.

  • Back (Dorsal): Includes the scapular, vertebral, lumbar, sacral, and gluteal regions.
