Real Estate Commissioners
- Total of nine commissioners: seven from each congressional district, one black member, and one consumer commissioner.
- Commissioners must be Alabama residents for at least ten years and have ten years of experience in real estate as salespeople or brokers.
- Individuals convicted of violating federal or state real estate license laws are ineligible to serve as commissioners.
Consumer Commissioner Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old and an Alabama resident for ten years.
- Must be a registered voter with no felony convictions and owned real property.
- Cannot have been licensed as a salesperson or broker in the past ten years and must not be related to or employed by a real estate licensee.
Appointment and Terms
