- Personal electronic devices (PED)
- Passengers should exercise caution to prevent loss or damage of valuable belongings.
Policy and Procedure for Check-in Agents
- During check-in, agents must remind passengers to remove valuable items from checked baggage.
- If passengers refuse to remove valuable items, agents must:
- Inform passengers of the consequences
- Insist on signing the Limited Release Tag (LRT) to release Malaysia Airlines from legal liability
- Refer to Appendix 1 for instructions on completing the LRT form.
Gate and Cabin Baggage Procedures
- For cabin baggage offloaded at the gate due to space constraints:
- Gate staff must ask passengers to remove all valuable items, including Dangerous Goods (DG)
- During boarding, if cabin crew offload cabin baggage due to space constraints:
- Crew must ask passengers to remove all valuable items, including DG
Implementation and Compliance
- Station Managers/Heads must ensure:
- Ground and/or Cargo Handling Representatives acknowledge and disseminate the information to relevant staff
- Relevant staff sign the acknowledgement form
- Scanned copy of acknowledgement slip is uploaded to the Standard and Procedure Management (SNPAS) Sharepoint link
- Acknowledgement of Receipt is kept for three months for audit purposes
