    Multipurpose Display (MPD)

    • MPD enters screen save mode if no button presses are received within 5 minutes
    • MPD can be brought out of screen save mode by selecting any button on either MPD in the crew station
    • Cursor and knob operations will also interrupt the screen save mode

    MPD Features

    • MPD provides capability for controlling and monitoring of most aircraft systems
    • MPD is a color display that displays video images provided by the MMP
    • Two MPDs in each crew station
    • Each MPD has independent controls for adjustment of display image quality

    MPD Viewability Controls

    • BRT (Brightness) Knob: varies the intensity of the display video and/or symbology
    • VID (Video Enhancement) Knob: allows crewmember to optimize video on MPD for specific sensor or scene content

    MPD Buttons

    • Menu (M) button
    • B1 button: always selected
    • Store buttons: allow storing pages into currently selected queue position (1-3)
    • NONE button: removes page stored in currently selected queue
    • ASE, INST, TSD, WPN, FCR, UR, and PMSN Store buttons: store respective pages
    • ENG, FLT, and PERF Store buttons: store respective pages

    KU Keys

    • Provides alphanumeric, decimal, plus/minus, backspace, insert (space), left arrow, right arrow, clear, multiply, divide, plus, minus, and enter keys
    • Scratchpad display accepts up to 44 characters and can display up to 22 characters at a time
    • Scratchpad LEDs can be used to display prompts and characters

    KU Operation

    • KU becomes active in response to MPD selection of a data entry button
    • Short prompt and colon are presented, indicating anticipated data to be entered
    • KU supports the use of shortcut keys to reduce the number of actions required to complete a task

    INIT Page - Shutdown Controls

    • INIT button: selects between SHUTDOWN and FARP
    • MASTER OFF button: shuts down aircraft systems
    • FCR button: enables/disables the FCR
    • UR button: enables/disables the UR system
    • TADS button: enables/disables the TADS
    • IDM button: toggles between standby and operate

    DVR Controls

    • ERASE DVR button: used to erase files from the DVR
    • NO button: deselects the ERASE DVR button
    • NON EVENT FILES button: erases all files from the DVR that are considered non-event related
