Air Transportation Types

  • Domestic Air Transportation: commercial air transportation within Indonesia's territory
  • International Air Transportation: commercial air transportation from Indonesia to outside or vice versa

Operations Definitions

  • Domestic Operations: scheduled commercial air transportation within Indonesia using planes with >19 seats or MTOW >5700 kg
  • Flag Operations: scheduled commercial air transportation (domestic and international) using planes with >19 seats or MTOW >5700 kg
  • Supplemental Operations: scheduled or unscheduled commercial air transportation for cargo (MTOW >5700 kg) or passengers (>30 seats)
  • Commuter Operations: scheduled commercial air transportation within Indonesia using planes with ≤19 seats or MTOW ≤5700 kg, or helicopters
  • Charter Operation: non-scheduled commercial air transportation using planes with ≤30 seats or MTOW ≤5700 kg, or helicopters

Aircraft Leasing and Operations

  • Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) and small unmanned aircraft system operations for commercial air transport must comply with certification and operations specifications requirements in subpart B and conduct operations in accordance with requirements prescribed by the Director General.
