The Reading and Use of English section of the exam is divided into seven parts.

Part 2 of the Reading and Use of English paper tests your grammatical knowledge. You need to fill in each gap in a text with one word.

Part 3 of the Reading and Use of English paper tests your vocabulary knowledge, focusing on how prefixes and suffixes affect the meaning of words.

Part 4 of the Reading and Use of English paper tests your ability to rewrite sentences in different ways, while maintaining the same meaning.

Part 5 of the Reading and Use of English paper tests your ability to understand and interpret longer texts. You need to answer multiple-choice questions about the text.

Part 6 of the Reading and Use of English paper tests your ability to understand the structure of a text and identify the missing paragraph from a set of options.

Part 7 of the Reading and Use of English paper tests your ability to identify specific information from different sections of a longer text. You need to match questions with the correct sections.

The Writing section of the exam is divided into two parts.

Part 1 of the Writing paper requires you to write an essay summarizing and evaluating the key points from two short texts. You need to use your own words as much as possible.

Part 2 of the Writing paper presents you with a choice of tasks, such as writing an article, letter, report, or review. You need to choose one task and write a response in an appropriate style.

The Listening section of the exam is divided into four parts.

Part 1 of the Listening paper tests your ability to understand and respond to short audio extracts. You need to choose the answer that best fits the context of the audio.

Part 2 of the Listening paper tests your ability to understand and interpret longer audio extracts, such as a speech or lecture. You need to complete sentences with information from the audio.

Part 3 of the Listening paper tests your ability to understand and interpret a longer conversation. You need to answer multiple-choice questions based on the conversation.

Part 4 of the Listening paper tests your ability to understand and match information from different audio extracts. You need to match each statement with the correct speaker.

The Speaking section of the exam is a one-on-one interaction with an examiner.
