Agios Social Media Policy
- Purpose: Establish consistent compliance standards for all interactions with customers, patients, investors, media, and employees. Goal is to protect confidential information, maintain reputation, and comply with laws and regulations.
- Applicability: Applies to all Agios employees worldwide, for any social media activity, on or off duty, using company or personal resources, whether using real name, assumed name, or anonymously. Excludes personal use not related to Agios' business.
- Contact: Questions about policy should be directed to the Compliance team. Violations can be reported to managers, HR, Compliance, or Legal, or anonymously through the Agios Compliance Helpline.
- Reporting Violations: Retaliation for reporting suspected violations in good faith is prohibited.
- Training: Employees will receive periodic training on social media activity, policy, and related policies (schedule and format TBD).
Social Media Guidelines
- Respect: Be fair, courteous to all involved (employees, customers, vendors, patients, competitors, etc). Avoid harming/damaging statements, pictures, or videos.
- Code of Conduct/Applicable Laws: Adhere to Agios' Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, all relevant local laws, and company policies. Social media posts should not violate any laws (e.g., product promotion, intellectual property, or privacy rules).
- Company Communications: Agios employees aren't authorized to speak for the company or promote products unless explicitly permitted by policy.
- Patient/Patient Organization Interactions: Employees are allowed to share information with patient groups but must maintain a non-company representative stance. Direct one-on-one patient communication should be avoided.
- Confidentiality and Privacy: Agios employees must maintain confidentiality regarding company information, trade secrets, and personal information of individuals.
