  • pH Scale: Measures acidity/basicity of a solution. Neutral is 7, values below 7 are acidic, and above 7 are basic.
  • pH Changes: Each whole number change on the pH scale represents a 10-fold change in strength. For example, a drop from pH 6 to 4 is a 100-fold increase in acidity (10²=100)
  • Indicators: Chemicals that change color based on the pH of a solution. Examples include litmus paper (red=acidic, blue=basic) and universal indicators.
