Academic Performance and Policies
- Midterm grades submitted for earning grades of C-, D, F, or if non-attending.
- Academic Success Center, Help Room, and Tutor services available for academic support.
- Deadline to drop a full semester class for Fall 2016 is October 28th.
- ISU freshmen allowed up to 5 career drops.
- If dropping a class after the first week, a pink add/drop slip is required.
- Students allowed 15 designated repeats for courses.
- Approval from adviser and instructor needed to drop classes after the deadline.
- Withdrawal Form must be used if dropping all classes for a semester.
GPA and Academic Standing
- Basic Program GPA requirement is a minimum of 2.0 to remain in good standing.
- Similar GPA requirement of 2.0 applies to the ME Foundations Area and ME Core Area.
- Overall GPA required to graduate from ISU is also set at 2.0.
- Semester GPA between 1.00-1.99 results in Academic Warning status.
- Semester GPA between 0.00-0.99 leads to Academic Probation.
Course and Credit Information
- Courses included in the Basic Program: Math 165, English 150, Chem 167, ME 160, Engr 101, Math 166, Phys 221, English 250, Library 160.
- Maximum credits permitted per semester is 18.
- Minimum credits needed to be classified as a full-time student are 12.
- Up to 3 100-level classes can be applied towards General Education requirements.
- A grade of C is required in English 150 and 250, while C- is needed in Math 165 and 166.
- A grade of C is also necessary for any transfer credits.
- Students must earn between 30-59 credits to be classified as sophomores.
