Abdominopelvic Quadrants
- Right Upper Quadrant (RUQ): Contains most of the liver, approximately half of the colon (large intestine), parts of the small intestine, gallbladder, right kidney, and right adrenal gland.
- Right Lower Quadrant (RLQ): Houses the cecum, appendix, parts of the small intestine, and half of the urinary bladder.
- Left Upper Quadrant (LUQ): Composed of the stomach, spleen, half of the colon, parts of the small intestine, most of the pancreas, left kidney, and left adrenal gland.
- Left Lower Quadrant (LLQ): Holds parts of the small intestine, sigmoid colon, and half of the urinary bladder.
Abdominopelvic Regions
- Right Hypochondriac Region: Located laterally to the right of the epigastric region and above the right lumbar region.
- Epigastric Region: Positioned between the right and left hypochondriac regions, above the umbilical region.
- Left Hypochondriac Region: Found laterally to the left of the epigastric region and above the left lumbar region.
- Right Lumbar Region: Located laterally to the right of the umbilical region and below the right hypochondriac region.
- Umbilical Region: Placed between the right and left lumbar regions, below the epigastric region.
- Left Lumbar Region: Situated laterally to the left of the umbilical region and below the left hypochondriac region.
- Right Iliac Region: Located laterally to the right of the hypogastric region and below the right lumbar region.
- Hypogastric Region: Found between the right and left iliac regions and below the umbilical region.
