Joe and Bella were supposed to spend the weekend with Gran at the beach, but it was raining heavily on Saturday morning.
Due to the rain, Gran decided to take them to her house instead of the beach.
At Gran's house, they spent the day watching a movie, playing cards, doing homework, and trying to take Gran's dog, Selby, for a walk.

Bella was bored and decided to make a cake for Selby, using dog food, cornflakes, yogurt, toast, biscuits, and tinned rice pudding.
The cake mixture had lumps and a strong smell, and Joe was not impressed.
Selby didn't like the cake and ran out of the room, making Bella burst into tears.

Gran suggested making a cake as a surprise for their parents, who had been working hard all day.
