EU - Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA)
- A new-generation free trade agreement with a wide range of commitments
- Consists of 17 Chapters, 2 Protocols, and some understandings
- Covers various aspects of commerce including trade in goods, services, investment liberalization, e-commerce, government procurement, and intellectual property rights.
Trade in Goods

EU Commitments:
- Eliminate tariffs on 85.6% of Vietnamese goods upon EVFTA's entry into effect.
- Eliminate tariffs on 99.2% of Vietnamese goods within 7 years of EVFTA's entry into effect.
- Implement tariff rate quotas (TRQs) for remaining 0.3% of Vietnamese goods with a 0% tariff within the quota.

Vietnam Commitments:
- Eliminate tariffs on 48.5% of EU goods upon EVFTA's entry into effect.
- Eliminate tariffs on 91.8% of EU goods within 7 years of EVFTA's entry into effect.
- Eliminate tariffs on 98.3% of EU goods within 10 years of EVFTA's entry into effect.

Export Tariffs
- Both Vietnam and the EU commit to avoiding any kind of export tariffs or fees, with the exception of clearly reserved cases.
- Vietnam maintains export tariffs on 57 tariff lines, including sand, granite, ores, oil, coal, coke, and gold.
- High export tariffs will be reduced to 20% within 5 years (except for manganese ore, which will be reduced to 10%).
- Vietnam will eliminate export tariffs for all other products within a maximum of 15 years.

Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT):
- Both Parties agree to strengthen the implementation of WTO's Technical Barriers to Trade Agreement (TBT Agreement), including Vietnam's commitment to utilizing international standards for TBT regulations.
- Vietnam commits to recognizing all technical conformity certification for EU cars within five years of EVFTA's entry into force, according to the 1958 UNECE Agreement.
- Vietnam commits to accepting the "Made in EU" label for non-agricultural products, except for pharmaceuticals.

- Agreement reached on SPS principles to facilitate trade in animal and plant products.
- EU management entity will be the competent authority of specific EU member countries.
- European Commission will only be responsible for general coordination and examination of member country systems.
