- Create a 1366 pixel by 768 pixel image with a resolution of 72 pixels per inch
- Fill the background with your desired color using the paint bucket
- Select a spooky-looking font using the type options bar along the top of your screen
- Double click the text layer to open the layer styles options
- Apply the following layer styles:
- Click on Bevel & Emboss
- Click to change the color in Highlight Mode to #FFFFFF
- Click OK when you are finished
- Drag your mouse along the bottom part of each letter using the smudge tool until you have something similar to what I have here
- Press Ctrl + Alt + Shift + N on your keyboard to create a new layer
- Click on the Lasso Tool
- Make a selection as I have done here
- Fill it in with the Paint Bucket
- Add more “cuts” to your letters
- Press Ctrl + Alt + Shift + N on your keyboard to create a new layer
- Set your foreground color to black by pressing t
