- The guitar was commissioned from Nova Scotia luthier George Rizsanyi and was completed in 2006.
- It was officially renamed Voyageur at a ceremony in 2009 and has since been played by hundreds of musicians at public and private events across Canada.
- In 2009, the guitar was part of the Un Paese a Sei Corde international guitar festival in Orta San Giulio, Italy, where it was played by Pino Forastiere and Davide Sgorlon.
- Taylor built a guitar out of 64 pieces of wood from across Canada and it toured across the country.
