2024 Olympic Torch Relay

Olympic Torch

• The 2024 Olympic torch will be lit in Olympia, Greece on April 16, 2024.
• The torch relay will travel through France from May 8, 2024, and will also visit the overseas departments of France, including Reunion, Guadeloupe, Guyana, and New Caledonia in June.
• From July 14 to 15, the relay will travel through the capital city of Paris and the Île-de-France region until the Olympic Games start.

Paris 2024 Olympics

• The opening ceremony of the Paris Games will take place on July 26, 2024.
• For the first time in Olympic history, the opening ceremony will not be held in a stadium, but along the Seine River in Paris, with visitors and spectators lining up along the banks of the Seine.
• The river parade will be approximately 6 km (3.7 miles) long.

Paris Paralympic Games

• The Paris Paralympic Games will be held from August 28 to September 8, 2024, in Paris.

Olympics 2024 Mascot

• The official mascot of the Paris Olympic Summer Games is the Phryge, a symbol of the red French cap or hat.
• For the first time in Olympic history, both the Olympic and Paralympic Games will share the same mascot and the same Olympic emblem or logo.
