Study Notes
- A cloud can be described as a group of interconnected servers, located in one or more datacenters.
- Public clouds also have some disadvantages, such as the lack of control over the underlay infrastructure used.
- There are two main types of clouds: public and private. Private clouds are more expensive, but have more control over the underlay infrastructure.
- Cloud deployment methods include: IaaS, CaaS, PaaS, FaaS, and SaaS.
- Availability zones are a unique physical location within an Azure region, and each availability zone is made up of one or more data centers.
- Azure hierarchy includes the tenant at the top, and a number of subscriptions beneath it. Each subscription contains a number of resource groups.
- A cloud customer is responsible for securing the remaining elements of the cloud: network settings, applications, and data.
- The Fortinet Security Fabric enables the following services and capabilities: native integration, broad protection, management and automation.
- Azure includes a variety of network components, including a virtual network, subnet, network interface, Azure load balancer, VM scales set, virtual network gateway, and routing table.
- You can connect VNETs to each other using Azure VNET peering or Azure VPN gateways.
- Azure ARP processes manage all ARP traffic through a service that performs both switching and routing operations, depending on the destination address.
