A new form of storytelling that emerged with the advent of accessible media production techniques, hardware and software A short form of digital media production that allows everyday people to share experiences and stories with others Use of digital tools to tell people’s ‘stories’ Sometimes used to refer to film-making in general Multimodal Reading Experience Many texts are multimodal, where meaning is communicated through combinations of two or more modes. Modes include written language, spoken language, and patterns of meaning that are visual, audio, gestural, tactile and spatial. Young people need to be able to communicate effectively in an increasingly multimodal world. This requires teaching children how to comprehend and compose meaning across diverse, rich, and potentially complex, forms of multimodal text, and to do so using a range of different meaning modes. How to Navigate Information in the Digital Age Critically evaluate information, sources, and evidences Verify the credibility of the source by examining its reputation, expertise, and potential biases Confirm information by checking multiple reliable sources Verify claims before sharing or reacting to them Ensure the information is current and not outdated Differentiate between factual information and opinion References Digital Literacy. https://lincs.ed.gov/sites/default/files/TSTMDigitalLiteracyBrief-508.pdf Hiller, S.A. et al.
