It is the main screen area that you see after you turn on your computer and log on to windows. PARTS OF WINDOWS DESKTOP ICON These are small images on the desktop that serves as shortcuts for programs, folders, or files. Common actions performed in Icons: Double-click icons to open. Drag icons to move to the other parts of the desktop. WALLPAPER It is the background area of the desktop. There are different backgrounds available in Windows that we can use as our desktop wallpaper. START NOTIFICATION BUTTON AREA SEARCH QUICK LAUNCH BAR BAR TASKBAR The taskbar is a horizontal bar at the bottom of the desktop where users can pin and quickly access their favorite programs. START START BUTTON MENU START BUTTON It is found on the taskbar located at the bottom left corner of the desktop. Clicking the Start Button, opens the Start Menu and gives access to all programs installed on our computer. SEARCH BAR SEARCH BAR It is used to find programs, folders, or files on our computer easily by just typing a keyword. QUICK LAUNCH BAR QUICK LAUNCH BAR It is located beside the search bar. It provides a quick and easy way to start a program with just a single click. NOTIFICATION AREA NOTIFICATION AREA This contains the icons for the battery, sound, volume control, available network list, and date and time. Questions 1.
