Japan is known for its high level of ethnic and cultural homogeneity. The majority of the population is ethnically Japanese with a shared language and cultural practices. While in the U.S, it is one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse countries in the world. Numerous ethnic groups, languages and cultural traditions can be found there. Language barriers are a common communication challenge in the United States due to the diversity of languages spoken there.
