NASOGASTRIC TUPE PLACMENT A tube passing through the nose, pharynx, and esophagus, with the distal tip in the stomach. Indications: Complications : Contraindications : Gavage Pneumothorax ToF Gastric Lavage Acid reflux Skull fracture Gi Decompression Vocal cords paralysis Coagulopathy Nasal irritation Mass ,stenosis Epistaxis Aspiration Equipment Appropriate NG Tube size , PH test strips , Basin with warm tap water , Clean gloves ,Tongue blade , Flashlight , Stethoscope , Glove , Cub with straw , Lubricate Insertion Assess nose and abdomen (Measurements) Water soluble lubricant Semi fowler position Flexion / extension Test :x-ray , Puch air , PH Feeding Check tube placement preparation of feeding Semi folwer position flush with water Gravity / drops remain seat for 30-60min Irrigation position:semi-sitting give 5ml normal saline with gravity clamp for 30 minutes aspartate amount assess the amount contact tube with urine pag Removal Were gloves semi fowler position pull the tube fast to not harm the patient then throw it in yellow bag check if there any wound or redness then ask the patient if he comfortable done by: Mona Yahya , Nada Samir, Sara Saeed , Maram Alenzi
