1\. Why do you want to be Vice Captain? *"I want to be Vice Captain because I am passionate about making a positive impact on our school community. I believe in the power of leadership to inspire and support others, and I want to help create an environment where students feel included, motivated, and excited to be part of the school. I also want to work alongside the School Captain to foster school spirit, promote wellbeing, and contribute to meaningful initiatives that make a difference in people's lives."* 2\. What qualities do you think make a good leader? *"I think a good leader should be approachable, empathetic, and responsible. They should lead by example, be able to listen to others, and take initiative when needed. A strong leader also empowers others, encourages collaboration, and values the input of their team. Above all, they should be adaptable, understanding that leadership often requires flexibility in different situations."* 3\. How would you describe your leadership style? *"My leadership style is collaborative and supportive. I believe in working with others to achieve common goals and making sure everyone feels heard and valued. I try to lead by example and encourage creativity and initiative. At the same time, I'm not afraid to step up and take charge when it's needed. I want to create an environment where my peers feel confident and motivated to contribute their ideas and talents."* 4\. Can you tell us about a time when you demonstrated leadership? *"Last year, I helped organize a charity event at school to raise funds for a local community project. I worked closely with a team of students to plan the event, coordinate activities, and promote it around the school. I made sure everyone felt involved by delegating tasks based on their strengths, and I kept everyone updated on our progress. The event was a success, and I was proud to see our team come together to make it happen. It taught me a lot about teamwork, communication, and the importance of staying focused on our goals."* 5\. How do you manage your time between schoolwork, extracurriculars, and leadership responsibilities? *"I prioritize tasks by setting clear goals and making schedules. I break down big tasks into smaller, manageable steps and make sure I stay on top of deadlines. I also make use of any free time during the school day to catch up on assignments, so I don't fall behind. Balancing multiple responsibilities can be challenging, but I've learned to stay organized and focus on one task at a time. This helps me stay focused and ensures that I can contribute to all areas without compromising my academic performance."* 6\. What do you think is the most important aspect of fostering school spirit and unity? *"I believe the most important aspect of fostering school spirit and unity is creating opportunities for students to connect and engage with each other. Whether it's through school events, clubs, or informal gatherings, providing spaces for students to bond helps build a sense of community. Encouraging inclusivity and celebrating our diverse backgrounds also strengthens unity, as everyone feels valued and part of something bigger than themselves."* 7\. How would you encourage students to get more involved in school events and activities? *"I think one of the best ways to encourage participation is by showing students how fun and rewarding these events can be. I would help promote school activities in a way that highlights the benefits---whether it's developing new skills, meeting new people, or just having fun. I'd also make sure to involve students in the planning process, so they feel like they have a voice in the events we organize. When students feel like they're part of something meaningful, they're more likely to engage."* 8\. Can you think of a new idea or initiative you would like to implement to improve school life or wellbeing? *"One idea I have is to introduce a regular 'Wellbeing Week' at school, where we focus on mental health, stress management, and self-care. This could include activities like mindfulness sessions, workshops on managing school pressure, and events that promote physical activity and healthy eating. I'd also love to create a student support network where students can anonymously share concerns or ask for help, so no one feels alone when facing challenges."* 9\. How would you ensure that all students feel included and valued in the school community? *"I would make a conscious effort to promote inclusivity by actively listening to students from all backgrounds and ensuring that their voices are heard. I would support initiatives that celebrate diversity and make sure that events and activities are accessible to everyone, regardless of their interests or abilities. I also think it's important to create spaces where students feel safe to express themselves, whether that's through discussions, events, or peer support groups."* 10\. What would you do if you noticed that students were disengaged or not participating in school activities? *"If I noticed that students were disengaged, I would first try to understand the reasons behind it. Is it because they don't feel included, or do they not see the value in the event? I'd listen to their concerns and find ways to make the events more appealing or accessible. This might involve getting feedback on what they'd like to see more of or adjusting the format of the activities to better suit their interests. Encouraging student involvement starts with making sure they feel heard and understood."* 11\. How would you handle a situation where you disagree with the Captain or another leader in the Executive team? *"If I disagreed with the Captain or another leader, I would approach the situation with respect and professionalism. I would discuss my concerns openly, but in a way that focuses on finding a solution rather than just pointing out the problem. Collaboration is key in leadership, and I believe that healthy disagreements can lead to better outcomes if handled constructively. My goal would be to ensure that we work together to find the best path forward for the school community."* 12\. What are some specific goals you have for the school year as Vice Captain? *"One of my main goals would be to improve student wellbeing and ensure that everyone feels supported, both academically and emotionally. I also want to strengthen school spirit by organizing more inclusive events that celebrate our diverse community. Another goal is to increase student participation in extracurricular activities, making sure that students know how important their involvement is in creating a vibrant school culture."* 13\. If you could organize any event for the school, no matter how big or small, what would it be and why? *"I would love to organize a 'Cultural Diversity Day' where students could showcase their heritage through food, music, dance, and art. It would be a fun, engaging way to celebrate the different cultures within our school and promote inclusivity. The event would encourage students to learn about and appreciate each other's backgrounds while having a great time. It would also provide an opportunity for students to take pride in their culture and share it with others."* 14\. What has been the most challenging leadership experience you've faced so far? *"The most challenging leadership experience I've had was organizing a large school event where there were many different moving parts and a lot of people involved. I had to juggle multiple tasks, manage different teams, and keep everything on track. There were times when things didn't go as planned, and it was stressful, but it taught me how to stay calm under pressure, communicate effectively, and problem-solve quickly. In the end, the event was a success, and I learned a lot about resilience and teamwork."*
