Email :[email protected] W ebsite :http://Alkafeel.edu.iq 3 1. Biosafety: refers tothe containment principles, technologies and practices that are implemented to prevent unintentional exposure to pathogens and toxins, or their accidental release. Email :[email protected] W ebsite :http://Alkafeel.edu.iq 4 2. Biosecurity: refers to principles, technologies and practices that are implemented for the protection and control of biological materials. Biosecurity aims to prevent their unauthorized access, loss, misuse, diversion or release. Check: measure/monitor performance ; 4.Act: on the basis of review to make necessary changes. Fire safety. Electrical safety. It is an approach to infection control to treat all human blood and certain human body fluids as if they were known to be infectious for HIV, HBV and other The concept of Universal Health Precautions emphasizes that all our patients should be treated as though they have potential blood born infections, and can infect the caring health care workers. ( CDC) key elements of standard precaution 1. Hand Hygiene 2. Gloves 3. Facial Protection 4. Gown 5. Prevention of needle stick and injuries from other sharp instruments 6. Respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette 7. Environmental cleaning 8. Linen 9. Waste Disposal 10. Patient care equipment Universal precautions Considered highly infectious Blood Semen Vaginal Secretions Synovial Fluids Amniotic fluid All other body fluids 1/11/2024 Email :[email protected] W ebsite :http://Alkafeel.edu.iq 1 3 Universal precautions Use disposable plastic gloves Do not reuse gloves Change after contact with each client Don't touch other environmental surfaces except as necessary Don't touch your face with contaminated gloves Discard appropriately 1/12/2020 Email :[email protected] W ebsite :http://Alkafeel.edu.iq 10 10/11/2024 Email :[email protected] W ebsite :http://Alkafeel.edu.iq 15 Universal precautions Use of needles Use properly and wear protective gloves Dispose properly in thick puncture resistant container Avoid recapping needles Use disposable syringes and needles Thank you and Best of Luck 1/12/2023 Email :[email protected] W ebsite :http://Alkafeel.edu.iq 18
