India is the world’s largest parliamentary democracy and they elect many people to represent them and make their laws. The leader of the majority runs their government. 9. Some countries, like China, are a single-party state and only one political party is allowed and only the leaders of that political party are allowed to make decisions. 10. Everyone is entitled to basic human rights, such as freedom of speech, freedom from torture, and more. All people are entitled to these rights, regardless of race, gender, religion. 11. With over 192 country members, the United Nations has a goal to promote peace and cooperation amongst the countries of the world. 12. The United Nations created sustainable goals that would be maintained for many years. 13. The economy of the United States is very diverse. There are a lot of ways that people make money by producing, buying, and selling many goods and services. 14. Around the world different countries and their governments use different economic systems to determine the role that the citizens and the government have in economic decisions. 15. Unfortunately, we don’t live in a world of unlimited resources. Resources like oil are limited, and the scarcity of limited resources like oil can cause problems. 16. The economy of Cuba is a command economy and almost all of the decisions about what to make and how much to sell are decided by the Cuban government. 17. The economy of Australia is very much a market economy and most of the economic decisions are made by the people with little involvement from the government. 18. Almost all of the world’s economies are a mixed economy because economic decisions are made by both the government and the people. 19.
