School of Architecture & the Built Environment **Fire Safety Management BE6810** **8.0 [Premises Emergency Data ]** **Learning outcomes** At the end of this lesson, learners will be able to: - Outline the CD Division Contingency Plan. - Describe the essential PED to be provided. - State the procedure for the submission and updating of PED data. **8.1 [Introduction]** **8.2 [Contingency Plan]** The first part of the Civil Defence (CD) Division Contingency Plan is prepared by the CD Division. The plan addresses the concept of operations and overall management of the incident at the premises. **8.3 [Premises Emergency Data] (PED)** This part contains the premise data/ information required by the SCDF Incident Commander during an emergency. The FSM provides the required building's data/ information according to the standard format shown in **[Annex D](https://www.google.com/url?client=internal-element-cse&cx=007100547131705384552:dmu4xjhxbu0&q=https://www.scdf.gov.sg/docs/default-source/scdf-library/latest-general-erp-guidelines-with-example---2019.docx&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwjvv6PLqf__AhW1cGwGHbRnA6wQFnoECAEQAQ&usg=AOvVaw1TMFCW3Li3b6wH6qSEPLLF)** of the SCDF general guidelines for ERP. ![](media/image2.png)These data shall include the building's: - threat assessment; - occupancy load; - usage & key activities; - key personnel; - in-house emergency response resources; - fire risk; and - fire protection systems. **8.4 [Procedure for Submission of PED]** The CD Division HQ will distribute the PED format/ guidelines to the FSM of the premise. The FSM will fill in the details required. The FSM will submit the completed PED to the Division HQ [within 3 months] upon receipt of the notification. Annually, the Division HQ will write to the FSM to find out whether there are any revisions to the original PED that was last submitted. It is the FSM's responsibility to notify the Division HQ, in between annual submissions, when revisions are required. *[Note]\* - **The PED is part of the ERP**. Although there is no need to submit the ERP to SCDF (refer to Topic 6), the section on PED must be submitted separately to SCDF.* **8.5 [Operational Survey]** To verify the data submitted by the FSM, the Division HQ will assign the station in-charge of the premises to conduct an operational survey\* [within two months] upon receipt of the PED. Any inaccuracies will be amended. The FSM will submit the amended PED to the relevant Division. *[Note\*] - to be at the building to check & confirmed that the contents of the submitted PED are correct.* Updated: 8 July 2023 \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
