It can also be a daily prayer just to say thank you for life, food, or the people you love. 3. Why is it important to you? It’s important because it reminds me to focus on the good in my life instead of just asking for things. Why is John not Synoptic? John is different because it has unique stories, a different writing style, and focuses more on who Jesus is (his divinity) rather than just what he did. It doesn’t follow the same pattern as Matthew, Mark, and Luke. Creeds What are the two creeds called? The Apostles' Creed The Nicene Creed Who wrote the first Creed? The Apostles' Creed was based on the teachings of the Apostles. It wasn’t written by them directly, but it comes from what they taught. Who wrote the second Creed? The Nicene Creed was written by Church leaders at the Council of Nicaea in the year 325 AD. Why are the creeds important? The creeds are important because they explain the main beliefs of the Christian faith. They help Christians know what they believe and stay united in their faith. Parable Analysis 1. Summarize what the parable is about: This parable is about a man who goes on a journey and leaves his money (called talents) with three servants. One servant gets five talents, another gets two, and the last gets one. The first two servants invest the money and double it. The third servant hides the money and gives back only what he was given. When the master returns, he rewards the first two servants but punishes the third for being lazy and fearful. 2. What is the message in the parable? The message is that we should use the gifts, talents, and opportunities God gives us. If we use them well, we will be rewarded. But if we waste them or are too afraid to try, we miss the chance to grow and serve God. 3. (Sample question for this parable. probably not on the exam) How can this parable be applied to your own life? 4. Explain in detail: This parable teaches me that I should not waste the gifts or skills I’ve been given. Whether it's in school, sports, or helping others, I should try my best and not be afraid to take action. Like the first two servants, God wants us to use what we have to make a difference. Even if I only have a little, I should still try to do something with it instead of doing nothing out of fear or laziness. It reminds me that God expects effort, not perfection, and that when I use my talents well, I grow as a person and in my faith.
