## Series and parallel electric circuits in daily life - Electrical devices in our homes are attached in a parallel circuit. - The parallel circuit inside our home, supplies electricity to these devices in order for them to work. - Devices such as lamps, washing machines, vacuum cleaners can be connected to the circuit at any point. - Electrical devices used in our homes, however, have a series circuit inside them. - A good example of a series circuit which we can observe directly is the fairy lights. - The individual fairy lights are attached to the circuit in series. ### Factors that affect the brightness of bulbs or speed of motors 1. **Number of batteries** - The greater power source, the greater the amount of electric current flowing through the bulb. - Therefore, when there are more batteries the resulting is brighter bulbs. 2. **Number of bulbs** - Adding more bulbs in a series circuit reduces the flow of current. - Current is divided and the flow of bulbs is reduced.
