INTRODUCTION TO CREATIVE TECHNOLOGY COMPUTER Computers of the earlier years were of the size of a large room and required huge consumptions of electric power. However, with the advancement of technology, computers have shrunk to the size of a small watch. Depending on the processing power and size of computers, they have been classified. Computer is an electronic machine that accepts data processing It accepts and gather data.(INPUT) It processes data to become information(PROCESSING) It stores data and information.(STORE) It presents information.(OUTPUT) ✓ SUPERCOMPUTER ✓ MAINFRAME ✓ MINICOMPUTER ✓ WORKSTATION ✓ PERSONAL COMPUTER -Very expensive, very fast, and most powerful computers in the world. -They are used in high-end places like in scientific research centers because they can perform hundreds of millions of instructions per second. -powerful multi-user computers that capable of supporting many hundreds or thousands of users simultaneously. -used by governments and large organizations for bulk data processing. also known as midrange computers, are a class of multi-user computers that are smaller and less powerful than mainframe computers. single user but powerful computers like a personal computer but being run by more powerful microprocessor and monitor for engineering applications also called microcomputers because of their microprocessors for processing data and instruction codes. single-user computers that have a keyboard for entering data, monitor for displaying information, and storage device for saving data. Hardware is the physical aspects of a computer which is tangible to users. Software are the programs used to direct the operation of a computer, and give instructions on how to use them. Peopleware refers to individuals who develop or use computer systems. Computers are smart and can think like humans. Computers operate based on predefined algorithms and data Computers can do anything and everything. Computers have specific functions and cannot perform tasks outside of their programming
