### Vikings * **Geography:** Vikings originated from Scandinavia. This is a region made up of the countries of Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Choose one of these three countries and create a fact file of important information. For example, what is the capital city and how many people live there? * **Shield Art:** The Vikings were famous warriors. They decorated their shields with bright colours, geometric patterns and pictures of their favourite animals. Design your own shield. * **A Persuasive Speech:** You are a Viking warrior. You are about to go into battle. Write a short speech to persuade your troops that you are the right person to lead them into battle. Try to include features such as ambitious vocabulary and rhetorical questions. * **A Viking Feast:** The Vikings would hold large feasts to celebrate their great victories. Research the foods which the Vikings liked to eat. Create a menu describing the foods you would serve at your own victory feast. * **Design Technology:** Design a model of a Viking ship and explain how they were made. Label the key features of your design, and explain why you have chosen to include them. For example, why were Viking ships built so narrow? You might even want to build a model of your ship. * **A Viking Legend:** The Vikings believed in many different gods and goddesses. For example, Thor is the God of Thunder. Choose one of the Viking gods or goddesses. Research your chosen god and create a poster about them. Remember to include an explanation of what they had and the reason why they were worshipped.
