  • Burberry's name and branding are licensed to Coty for fragrances and cosmetics and to Luxottica for eyewear.
  • The trademark "BURBERRY" is derived from the founder's surname and is virtually synonymous with the tan gabardine raincoat.
  • The Burberry Equestrian Knight logo was developed in 1901, containing the Latin word "Prorsum", meaning "forwards", and later registered as a trademark in 1909.
  • Burberry became famous for its gabardine fabric, a hardwearing, water-resistant yet breathable fabric, in which the yarn is waterproofed before weaving.
