Legal Engagement Procedure
- Used for seafarers or cadets joining a South African ship in Cape Town or any SA port for a foreign-going voyage
- Record seafarer or cadet details in the TV5/204 - Crew Agreement, and a duplicate.
- The details that must be recorded:
- Place of birth
- Nationality
- Name of last ship
- Year of previous discharge
- Name and address
- Marital status
- Name, address, and relationship of next of kin
- Rank or rating
- Details of certificates of competency or qualification held
- Date and time for commencing work
- Date and place of signing-on
