Adult on Child Ticket

  • Sectional Check:

  • Magistrate Check:

    • A check conducted with a magistrate to ensure effective checking of ticket-less travel.
  • Fortress Check:

    • The whole station is closed to check unauthorized entry.
    • Staff (Ticket Checking, GRP, RPF, volunteers) are deployed.
    • Ensures unauthorized entry gates are closed.
  • Ambush Check:

    • Conducted to prevent misuse of alarm chains.
    • Staff (Civil dress) is stationed where alarm chain misuse is common.

  • Surprise Check by Road:

    • Used when ticket-less travel is suspected with staff involvement.

    • Performed by the Head Quarter Ticket Checking Squad in mid-sections
  • Massive Operational Checks:

    • Conducted across an 80km radius for 3-6 days.

Types of Nippers

  • V Type Nipper: Used when passengers enter the platform.

Duties of Ticket Collectors

Child, Adult, and Other Specific Cases in Travel

  • Child ticket age is 12 years or below.
  • Cases (child tickets, exceeding limits, incorrect ticket type, exceeding destination, incorrect date) have specific procedures.

Register of Collected Tickets and Disposal

  • Documents collected tickets by station, class, and route.
  • Tracks missing tickets.
  • Maintains records for each train daily.

Loss of EFT Books

  • A procedure is followed to record and report the loss.
  • The authorities are notified about the loss.
  • Reports should be submitted.

Ticket Collector's Returns/ TC Returns

  • Monthly accounting of used EFRs is submitted to the Head TC Office at the end of the month.
  • Detailed reports are prepared and submitted as per the format. (with all required details like: EFR No., train no., particulars of the ticket held, any excess fare, excess charge, and details of un-booked luggage.
  • Related account forms (Com 329B) are submitted along with returns.
